A large number of us look at going to far off exotic locations for a holiday and trips to Europe, but we often forget about the beautiful holiday destinations that are right here in the UK. From the picturesque Lake District, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Blackpool & Fylde Coast in the North, to Devon & Cornwall, The Isle of Wight, Norfolk and the Cotswolds in the South.

Good to see the Lake District at Number One 🙂 Plenty of ideas for great places to tour in a motorhome.
Superb!!! One of my plans is to buy a motorhome in the next few years….this is definitely saved for future reference. Thanks
Bet you wil have great fun in a campervan Cindy. The freedom of the road with all mod cons (unless you go for one of those cute vintage vehicles!) Come up to the Lake District when you get it 🙂
Now that’s the way to see the UK – but where’s SCOTLAND in this list?!
Good point John – so many wonderful places to see there. Where’s Northern Ireland? And they shouldn’t really lump all of Wales in one rating! Bit of a North/South divide as usual 😉
We’re thinking of getting a motorhome this summer. It’s been a dream to travel the country and this gives us a bit more inspiration! Not sure we’d manage the narrow lanes of Cornwall and Devon but worth it to get some of those lovely beaches 🙂
Oh I do hope you get one Carol. Having spent a couple of weeks travelling across Canada through the Rockies in an RV (my fist time driving one) I can highly recommend it! I did get used the size but Canadian roads are made for these big vehicles whereas some of our lanes are not wide enough for a car. Sure you’d get used to it very soon.
